Something magic happens when our greatest loves and work come together. In Karin Åkesson’s case, it was the coming together of her two children with her professional life as an illustrator. Inspired, she founded Karin Åkesson Design to bring joy through playful and colourful designs and products. For Karin though, Karin Åkesson Design is more than a just a business. It’s also about focusing on the ‘sunny things in life’, as well as inspiring confidence – be it via words or images (and largely both) – for her children, and all those who enjoy her art. Karin runs her online shop with her husband, David, and their studio is based in East London, where she creates all her designs. She will be releasing her first children’s colouring book in 2023 called The Rainbow Snail.
