Often, it’s through our own struggles that innovation is inspired – in this case, one East Londoner’s struggle with chemically-treated dry hair. From this struggle came SuAura, a natural, plant-based hair and skincare company, founded by NHS worker-turned-businesswoman Susanne Nicholas. After seeing the damage synthetic straightening products were having on her and her family’s hair, she stopped using them. But she needed something to replace them with, and soon found there was a dearth of suitable natural products on the market. It wasn’t until Susanne’s late sister encouraged her to take courses to learn about product formulation herself though, that she started making her own haircare products.
