
Running through to September, the Hackney-born gelato brand, TANO Gelato has already built a cult following thanks to its small-batch approach and flavour combinations that somehow feel both nostalgic and completely unexpected. If you know, you know — and if you don’t, this is your sign.
Founded by Argentine-born Tomás Rizzo in 2024, TANO started from a craving. After moving to London and struggling to find gelato that reminded him of home, he decided to make it himself. What began as a personal project quickly turned into one of East London’s best-kept secrets, with locals ordering tubs straight to their doors and stopping by the workshop for cones on sunny afternoons.
Now, TANO is stepping out properly with a five-month pop-up inside Tom’s Pasta Deli at Hackney Downs Studios — basically the perfect setting for what could become the snack stop of the summer.

Expect signature flavours alongside rotating seasonal specials, all made from scratch using top-quality ingredients. Think creamy classics, playful twists and the kind of scoops that make you immediately ask for a taste of your friend’s order.
