Wahaca in Canary Wharf is a vibrant haven for those looking to indulge in authentic Mexican street food with a modern twist. From the moment you step inside, the colourful, lively decor draws you in, setting the perfect backdrop for a relaxed meal with friends or a fun date night. The space feels energetic and inviting, with an atmosphere that’s perfect for snapping an Instagram story or two.
The menu is a delightful journey through Mexico’s street food scene, offering everything from tacos and burritos to quesadillas and moreish sharing plates. There’s a little something for everyone, whether you’re after a quick bite or a full-on feast.
On our lunchtime visit, we kicked things off with the Mexico City nachos, a layered masterpiece of tortilla chips, melted cheese, and all the essential toppings. Next up were the slow-cooked Beef Gringa tacos, free-range Pork Pilbil tacos, and sweet potato Bravas served with a jalapeño aioli and smoky hibiscus dip. The pork tacos were a standout, bursting with flavour, while the sweet potato bravas offered a crispy, spiced twist on the classic Spanish dish.
To complement our meal, we explored Wahaca’s cocktail list, featuring a variety of refreshing options. The drinks were as vibrant as the food – from the tangy Paloma and the smoky Pineapple Mezcal Sour to the classic Mojito. But the Whaca Colada stole the show, a creamy, tropical concoction that was an instant favourite.
Whether you’re after a casual dinner or just looking for a lively spot to grab drinks with friends, Wahaca Canary Wharf delivers an authentic taste of Mexico with plenty of flair. Don’t leave without trying the tacos – they’re not to be missed!
