London ramen legend Bone Daddies has never been afraid of going off-piste – this is, after all, the chain that made rock-and-roll ramen a thing. For August and September, they’ve teamed up with East London founded Rosa’s Thai for a limited-run Thai Fried Ramen, a mash-up that sounds like chaos but lands with surprising precision.
Imagine the warmth of a red curry folded into the comforting depth of ramen broth, that’s spicy, fragrant, totally slurpable – with tender chicken, bouncy noodles and those glossy soy-marinated eggs that Bone Daddies does so well. The portion is enormous – one bowl could fuel a city cyclist for a week!
Snacks are spot on too: crisp pork Cashu croquettes with just the right crunch and pillowy duck bao dripping in hoisin and mayo. And don’t skip dessert – the soy sauce and caramel ice cream sounds odd but lands somewhere between salty, sweet and addictive, topped with crunchy noodles for good measure.
