Ballie Ballerson’s Winter Wonderland

Jump into Christmas, quite literally at Ballie Ballerson’s Winter Wonderland! Shoreditch’s famous ball pit nightclub has been given a festive makeover with Christmas trees and baubles getting everyone in the festive spirit in the lead up to the big day. Starting from 2nd December, the club will be home to different events every night. These include a fancy dress competition on Thursdays and a candy cane hunt on Wednesday’s game night.

Canary Wharf Ice Rink

Once again Canada Square Park will be transformed into an atmospheric ice rink under the bright lights of the Canary Wharf skyline. In their longest season to date, the ice rink will be open for bookings for a staggering 18 weeks, running until 26th February. The covered rink will mean skaters need not fear the inevitable bad weather.  For those wanting to keep warm in the winter there is also ‘Off Piste’, an Alpine-themed bar overlooking the ice rink.

It is an item on the majority of people’s bucket lists: “See the Northern Lights.” For those unable to travel to see the real thing, Dan Archer is bringing the beauty and wonder of the Aurora Borealis to the heart of central London. The installation is sure to be a bona fide hit with spectators looking to brighten up their Instagram feeds or just take in the ‘natural’ beauty of the lights. The Aurora will be accompanied with an atmospheric soundtrack, and festive food and drink offers.

Jack and the Beanstalk- Hackney Empire

Puns galore, singing and dancing and slapstick comedy, panto is always a guaranteed hit with the family and this year is no different with Jack and the Beanstalk at the Hackney Empire. This year’s production is led by the Olivier-Award winning Clive Rowe, Duke from Tracey Beaker, who is treading the boards as Dame Trot. It will be co-directed by Rowe and Tony Whittle, who are both making their 14th panto appearance!

The famous floating dining room and gardens at Hackney Wick will be transformed into a festive wonderland, the perfect place for socialising with friends and family.  The barge will have a heated terrace, winter cabins and igloos where customers can enjoy a bottomless brunch on Saturday and Sundays with all the mulled wine you could ask for. Barge East will also be bringing back Wick Wonderland, a festive market supporting local businesses with festive food & drinks, decorations and even Christmas trees.
