Hackney Swifts Quiz Night

Join Hackney Swifts for a Zoom quiz and learn about swifts

Hackney Swifts has a mission to provide sanctuary for the endangered migratory birds whose sweeping acrobatics hail the start of each summer.

While Swifts usually run their traditional swift walk during Swift Awareness Week at the end of June for a week, this year they’re running a Swifts online quiz instead – and all are invited!

The quiz will be preceded by a short talk by Mike Priaulx of the work done by Hackney and Islington Swifts with a focus on a project at Scholars Place, N16. Even if you know nothing about swifts – come and learn about these amazing birds.

When? 2nd July 2020 – 8.00pm
Places are free but please book by emailing [email protected].  You’ll need access to the Zoom app on your laptop or device.

Another event you might like is a co-ordinated swifts spotting hour that you can do from your own street, or wherever you see swifts. Organised by Islington Swifts – it takes place on Sunday 28th June (or Monday 29th if you’re busy on Sunday or it’s raining), suggested time from 8pm to 9pm.

Check the Islington Swifts website (www.islingtonswifts.wordpress.com) or Twitter account (@islingt_swifts) from a week before the event to see how to submit your results.

Swift Awareness Week 2020 runs from 27th June to 5th July 2020
