While vegan menus are becoming increasingly commonplace in restaurants, the plant-based ethos doesn’t often spread to the drinks menu. The Book Club, Shoreditch, is changing that with the introduction of their new vegan cocktail menu. The menu replaces egg whites with aqua faba (whipped chickpea water) so that vegans can enjoy their tipples guilt-free. It also focusses on more unusual earthy flavours, like carrot, sweet potato and sugar snap pea – which basically makes a cocktail one of your five-a-day, right?
