In celebration of Tesco Finest’s 20th anniversary, the supermarket has announced the launch of ‘Devour’, an edible, interactive exhibition. Like Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, but without the precocious children or enforced labour of tiny orange men, the immersive exhibition, curated with Bompas & Parr, intertwines food, art, design and theatre in an adventure for the senses. Devour allows food lovers to travel through six different interactive experiences, from catching edible champagne bubbles in their mouths to venturing down a Himalayan salt mine. An electroencephalography headset (try saying that after a few edible champagne bubbles) worn throughout will analyse the guests’ reactions to different tastes, recording electrical brainwaves as they eat their way through the exhibition to create a personal profile of their reactions to the edible treats.
