From 7th October a brand new festival is coming to East London, bringing a month of cultural events including supper clubs, film and documentary screenings, live music and interactive workshops to the City.
City Life Festival champions London’s inclusivity and collaboration, highlighting how multiculturalism is the backbone of the city’s unique culture. On 7th October, Sheffield Doc Fest will present a Sunday session in Spitalfields with four films exploring connections of place, politics and culture in London from the 60s to today. East London bookshop Libreria will host Bill Brewster and guests on Tuesday 9th October, as they recall the heyday of the record store – an insightful discussion bound to excite vinyl-lovers (millennials and OG-record collectors alike). If storytelling is your thing, head to Spitalfields on 10th October to join UK Broadly editor, Zing Tsjeng and guest writers for an evening of stories that celebrate the female voice. A series of supper clubs will celebrate the growth of fusion food, with London street food vendors highlighting the amazing creations that come about with the intermingling of cultures in our city. Think Polish fish and chips or a West Indian Sunday roast.
