Did you know women have been active in brewing since ancient times? Back in the day, they were known as brewsters or alewives, both of which we reckon would make great names for a girl band… Keen to support modern-day brewsters, Brewhouse and Kitchen hosted the UK’s first ‘femALE’ Brew Day last month, where local women were invited to brew a unique beer on International Women’s Day. For a limited time only, you can try the brand new femALE-brewed blend at the Hoxton and Highbury & Islington Brewhouse and Kitchen sites, with each pint sold helping to raise money for the pub’s chosen Breast Cancer Research charity. Cheers to that!
