Shooting Range & Whisky Bar, East London

Go Mac & Wild

Occasionally, after a long day spent dodging pigeons, avoiding eye contact with fellow city-dwellers and nestling into strangers armpits on the tube, we need to escape the roar of the London for totally different climes. While the wilds of Scotland seem ever-more tempting in the oppressive heat of summer in the city, unfortunately we don’t always have the time or means to hot foot it 500 miles north. That’s where Mac & Wild come in.

From seasoned whisky drinkers to total beginners, Mac & Wild’s shooting range and whisky bar is designed to make Scotland’s favourite tipple more accessible and fun. The bar is open from 5pm till late every Tuesday – Saturday and serves over 200 varieties of whisky, including whisky slushies, a selection of whisky highballs and – if you head down between 5 and 7pm – a daily whisky happy hour. Scottish snacks, including venison scotch eggs and haggis pops, are available to line empty stomachs.

Located in their whisky bar, the shooting range is kitted out with two virtual shooting lanes, each equipped with state-of-the-art virtual shooting systems and replica shotguns. Dress up in the tweeds provided and let loose on a selection of targets, from pheasants and grouse to boars and bears. The shooting range lanes can be booked by the hour from 12-11pm Monday-Saturday.

For whisky connoisseurs, try out their Drams in the Dark experiences – unique whisky tasting evenings, where a darkened room provides the perfect setting for delving deeper into the unique flavours and aromas of different drinks. Host Blair Bowman is excited to be pairing with Mac & Wild and says: “Darkness and our senses have always been a potent concoction. Throw in a dram or two of whisky and you are instantly transported to new depths of palette and sensory euphoria!”
