The Zetter Townhouse, a boutique hotel with a Georgian façade and known for its eccentric interior, bears one of the most photographed doorways in London. Available to view until 17 June, art installation, ‘Geraniums in Coral’ showcases coral-coloured Geraniums, transforming the iconic entrance. The fantasy ‘underwater’ vignette, inspired by ‘Living Coral’ – Pantone Colour of the Year 2019, celebrates the longstanding urban popularity of the Geranium.
‘Geraniums in Coral’ is co-designed by award-winning garden designers and RHS medallists, Claudia de Yong, and Ian Drummond, creative director of Indoor Garden Design. Over 100 coral geraniums are incorporated into the installation alongside a statuesque mesh mermaid and oyster shell, clad in varying shades of moss. Rhipsalis, Zamioculcas, Ophiopogan, Carex, Festuca Glauca, Tillandsia, Crassula, Sanseviera also form part of the design to illustrate aquatic vegetation and seaweeds.
