Gherkin and chocolate are two things we never thought we’d want to combine. Until now. A chocolate-inspired taster menu will be available at Helix restaurant at the top of The Gherkin until 21 April. The four course menu, devised by master chocolatier William Curley, will incorporate cocoa in one of its many guises, starting with a cauliflower and Berkshire Blue soup topped with cacao nibs; then a Rhug Estate venison loin with a game chocolate sauce; a pre-dessert of Orange and white chocolate granite to cleanse the palate, then Willy’s chocolate mousse. Round the night off with a chocolate espresso martini, and take a chocolate selection home with you to enjoy later. Curley will also be hosting two chocolate masterclasses at The Gherkin on Friday 12th April, with the opportunity to sample different chocolates, while younger attendees can decorate their own Easter egg.
