One of London’s biggest stages, the Barbican, will play host to renowned physical theatre company Gecko for their debut at the venue. The Wedding, Gecko’s creation, is being performed as part of the London International Mime Festival 2019. The production’s intricate choreography explores the relationships between the individual and the state using minimal dialogue and vivid symbolism. In the dystopian world they create, we are all seen as brides wedded to society, yet the production culminates with the promise of revolution and hope, leaving audiences ‘ready to change the world’. Friday’s performance will also feature a post-show talk.
