While gin and tonic was once the preserve of geriatric, nicotine-addicted members of the royal family, it’s now the natural choice for bar and pub-goers who don’t fancy wine or a pint. Whiskey is quickly going the same way – no longer is it stashed away in the back of your Grandad’s spirit cabinet – hundreds of varieties now line the backs of bars, waiting to be mixed into something wonderful. Award-winning Bulleit Frontier Whiskey is doing just that, creating an immersive whiskey-infused drinking and dining experience for curious Londoners. Set behind heavy oak panelled doors, the pop-up experience is hosted at Lady Abercorn’s Pub and Kitchen at the five-star Andaz London Liverpool Street Hotel. The event pays homage to the illustrious (and illustrated) landlady with a Bulleit Cocktail and tattoo parlour, partnered with East London illustrator and tattoo artist Sophie Mo. Sophie Mo will be on hand for tattoo consultancy, while guests who don’t want to commit to permanent inking can receive temporary tattoos with every cocktail.
