Contemporary Art Fair at The Old Truman Brewery

Moniker Art Fair
4 -7  October 2018

Culture vultures, assemble! From 4th-7th October, the world’s largest urban art fair, Moniker, is returning to its London haunts at The Old Truman Brewery after an international debut over the pond in New York. Moniker’s director Tina Ziegler will be working with the Yasha Young, the director of Urban Nation Museum to present a knock-out line-up of urban contemporary artists in the much-anticipated installation hall. Intriguingly themed ‘uncensored’, Moniker’s artists and gallery spaces will be curating experiences that transcend tradition, expectation and propriety.

Curated in collaboration with Urban Nation Museum, Berlin, the installations will highlight social, economic and ecological injustices. Look out for internationally-acclaimed African artist Faith47 who began painting three years after apartheid ended, and whose work takes on the stark impact of war. Lek and Sowat, members of the legendary Parisian art collective DMV will be creating new work inspired by the personal journeys we take and how race and societal disadvantage impacts on them. Our understanding of mental health will be challenged by Italian-born artist VESOD who will be combining Renaissance art with Futurism. Emerging British star Dan Rawlings will be creating a striking human-vs-nature post-apocalyptic scenario within the installation hall, so be sure to check out his unique scrap metal and machinery manipulation.
